China: Good Manners: Do Not Drink To Lose Control

friendshpy.jpg

Drinking in no way is equated with manliness in Chinese culture.

Phrases such as tied on on are lost here.

A man losing control of his mind is most vulnerable. Drinking to this point with a man in China whom you are doing business with is pretty stupid as far as I am concerned.

You will not seem manly, masculine, macho or virile to Chinese men by wild drinking behaviour.

You will appear differently than you appear to those of your own culture: vulnerable, open to outside influences.
