Languages
Chinese and English are the official
languages in case there is still anyone on Planet Earth who does not know this. The name kinda has a Chinese look to
it, and all those wonderful walls of tourist kits at the airport give you a clue there may have once been a few English people
here.
Currency
Currency is roughly USA $1.00 to Hong
Kong 7.8 dollars. Hong Kong is a famous money city. Often the street changers are worse than the banking
rate, though there are a few no-commission places that amazingly give you a better rate. More on that later - I should
really charge you all here, because you will really save a lot of money.
Climate
Climate ranges from 26 - 33 Celsius
in the summer, to 14 - 20 Celsius in the winter.
Tippings
Most restaurants and hotels add a 10
% service tip, and when this is not applied, it is courteous to tip at least 10 % to the staff.
